I found the pan head Allen screws to be the best, no washers and even these short screws extend too far below the middle castings. First, the instructions for the quick release legs were unclear which bolts and washers to use to attach the feet to the Backbone castings. Everything goes together relatively quick and the instructions are generally clear. It is low profile and does not have the external structure around the body (I personally am not a big fan of that aesthetic), instead the Backbone puts the supporting structure inside the Freedom Hardtop.
